Reflection In Social Studies (Term 1)

We had an extraordinary ride in social studies. This term we've learnt about the deeper parts of Human Rights. Ms. Handley taught us what are the rights that are on the list of the Universal Declaration Human Rights. (in UDHR there are 30 human rights) We also learnt about the Atlantic Slave Trade. The Atlantic Slave Trade (triangle) is all about 'How and Why Africans were kidnapped and sold by the Europeans. This topic is really interesting to learn about because in our current generation it wasn't taught to us.  One of my favourites is learning the life of Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was an African Slave, her family was sold as slaves in America. Her heroic attitude and kindness made me fell in love on this topic. Overall, I like Social Studies this year because our topics are interesting to learn.

Topics List;
  • Human Rights
  • Atlantic Slave Trade
  • Harriet Tubman
  • Mapping
  • Graphing
  • Child soldiers
  • Human Trafficking
  • The Life of Iqbal

  1. It's nice to see how you learned more things about human rights and how you find Social Studies an interesting subject. Who is Harriet Tubman and what did she do that convinced your attention and became it as your favourite topic? Maybe next time you could share more about what you've learned in other topics.

    1. Hi Lovely thank you for your comment! However, Harriet Tubman is an African woman who lives in America because she and other Africans was sold as slaves. I loved her as a person because she doesn't need to do the things that she did like, guiding other slaves to go to the other states.
