Reflection In Social Studies (Term 1)

We had an extraordinary ride in social studies. This term we've learnt about the deeper parts of Human Rights. Ms. Handley taught us what are the rights that are on the list of the Universal Declaration Human Rights. (in UDHR there are 30 human rights) We also learnt about the Atlantic Slave Trade. The Atlantic Slave Trade (triangle) is all about 'How and Why Africans were kidnapped and sold by the Europeans. This topic is really interesting to learn about because in our current generation it wasn't taught to us.  One of my favourites is learning the life of Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was an African Slave, her family was sold as slaves in America. Her heroic attitude and kindness made me fell in love on this topic. Overall, I like Social Studies this year because our topics are interesting to learn.

Topics List;
  • Human Rights
  • Atlantic Slave Trade
  • Harriet Tubman
  • Mapping
  • Graphing
  • Child soldiers
  • Human Trafficking
  • The Life of Iqbal

The Adventure of Mecha-turtle

Ry the turtle was bullied since he was a fetus. He was bullied by those feeling cool turtle with plastics on their shells—they think plastics are cool. “You ugly turtle” Quillan the turtle said and spits on Ry. “I am not ugly! At least I don’t have plastic in my shell!” Ry said. “DO YOU SEE THIS AS UGLY?” Quillan and his gang said in unison. “Watch and wait, I’ll have my own cool thing on my shell, not just on the outside, but the inside!” then Ry walks out—slowly. Ry was home after an hour, “Dear our lord turtle, I pray that I have the coolest thing in my shell when I wake up.” Then he slept in peace.

The next day, Ry woke up with a cool machine in his very own shell, he can hear some techy sounds coming from his shell. He also had a smart lens on his eye when he looks at a person, he can see his information like whats his name. “This is so cool, finally I can fight back to Quillan and his gang.” he said to his own self.

“Somebody help me! Help!” Ry heard this coming from the neighbourhood, he checked outside. He saw a lady with a pretty nice bag, and someone is trying to steal it slowly from her. “Help! He’s trying to take my bag!” It’s a thief! I didn’t know what do I do next, but what happened next was surreal. I walked so fast, then I got the bag from the thief. “Thank you so much, young man.”

As Ry has his own power, he used this for the good. He helped a lot of people who are in danger. The crime rate went down in his city. This is where his story started.

I Didn't Mean To Kill Her

“I didn’t mean to kill her.”

June 24, 1936

It was a beautiful morning. I made myself a cup of strong coffee, without anything in it, just coffee. Ate my breakfast and went to the shower. I rode my bike to school because I was running late and I even forgot my jacket.

“Hi Alex! How’s your morning?!” Ugh, Jessica is always annoying in the morning, I always thought that she might have eaten a lot of sweet every morning. But every morning, she always has a different look. Today she’s wearing ripped jeans with red flannel. “It’s still boring, as always”.

She was asking a lot of question about me and everything every freaking day. She could almost ask me ‘How many times do I poop every day.’

“Alex I have something to tell you, please don’t be angry.” Jessica said “Jessica, were best friends since kindergarten. I know sometimes—I mean every time but I care about you. But what are you trying to tell me?” We were looking at each other’s eyes. “I liked you Alex—I loved you since we were in kindergarten.” I was in shock with her confession. What am I going to do now? Do I accept her confession? “Jessica, you know I loved you but that love are just for friends.” She walked away with teary eyes. On that day I didn’t mean murder her, emotionally.

The First 20 Of The Periodic Table

In our Chemistry topic, this is what we needed to do for our practical test. On this paper, you can see the first 20 elements on the Periodic Table. The pink sharpied letter is the symbol of the element. Below it is the count of Protons. Neutrons and Electrons in each element. Protons and Neutrons are in the centre of the atom, making up the nucleus. (nucleus is in the middle of an atom) However, electrons surround the nucleus. Each of them has a charge too, here's a guide;

Next, the green boxed numbers, those are the atomic number in each element. But what are atomic numbers? Atomic numbers is the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom of the element. Lastly the black circles on the bottom right is a shell/energy levels for Electron Arrangement. On each shell there is a limit. On the first shell it can only handle 2 electrons. on the second, it can handle 8 electrons and on the last, it can handle 8 electrons too.
